Admission process for new children

STEP 1 - petition of interest

The first step is simple: Please contact us at info@gamboaschool.com

Upon receipt of this initial inquiry, we will contact you within 5 working days with a decision on whether to proceed to Step 2.

STEP 2 - entrance evaluation

For children entering our Madden classroom (pre-kinder or kinder), GDS will request a reference letter from the previous daycare or preschool director. GDS will also invite the family for an interview.

For children entering Grade 1 and above, GDS requires a 'certificado de buena conducta'; a reference letter from a previous school director; a reference contact of a teacher; recent school transcripts, or 'Model F'.

The cost of an entrance evaluation is $50.

STEP 3 - commitment fee

If the entrance evaluation is positive, GDS will send a letter of acceptance.

STEP 4 - official documentation

Provide scans of the following:

Two passport size photos of the child

Child's birth certificate or, if panamanian, Cerificado de Nacimiento Escolar

Child's Panama cédula or passport photo page

Both parent's Panama cédula or passport photo page

Health certificate of the child issued by a physician with blood type

Child's immunization form

Send these scans as a single PDF file to info@gamboaschool.com Keep all originals as required by the Panamanian Ministry of Education (MEDUCA).

STEP 5 - academic records

The Panamanian Ministry of Education requires that all students entering a new school at 2nd - 12th grade provide previous academic records before enrolment

If your child was previously at a Panamanian school please provide your child's "Modelo F" and report cards from their previous school.

If your child was previously at a school outside Panama transcripts and records must be apostilled in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs or in an embassy of the country that issued the transcript. MEDUCA requires this to validate the records. We can provide you with the contact of an appropriate and trusted lawyer to assist you in this process.

STEP 6 - fees

Once your child has been accepted to the GDS please pay the matrícula. As soon as payments have been received you will be sent a link to complete the enrolment form. 

Re-admission process for established pupils

If your child already attends the Gamboa Discovery School please complete the following steps

Contact info@gamboaschool.com to secure your space for the next year

STEP 2

Provide scans of the following as is now required by MEDUCA

Two passport size photos of the child

Childs's birth certificate

Child's Panama cédula or passport photo page

Both parent's Panama cédula or passport photo page

Health certificate of the child issued by a physician with blood type

Child's immunization form

Send these scans as a single pdf file to info@gamboaschool.com. Keep all originals.

STEP 3

Pay the matrícula fees

Uniforms

Our uniforms borrow from Latin American and Caribbean culture with the comfortable, light, and hardwearing Guayabera. For sporting days, the uniform is a school t-shirt.
